2016 Spring Portfolio Tasting

This was my first year taking the lead on this project; below is a step-by-step of the process.

Save the Date

The first challenge was to design a save-the-date announcement. Months before the tasting, the company sent out an e-mail to all of our customers to announce the date, time, and place. At this point we had not started working on the concept for the event itself, so the look did not need to conform to any set theme; I took the opportunity to show my love for NYC, which I continued to do each year afterward.

Invitation

The invitation was the debut of the concept for the year; the image would also serve as the front cover of the tasting book. David is a big art and music buff, and this year he settled on surrealist art. This was sent out both as an e-mail blast and as a printed postcard.

In choosing the fonts, I drew my design inspiration from the late-19th and early-twentieth century.

All above: Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator.

Tasting Book

The book itself was the ultimate challenge. At almost 200 pages long, this was an enormous project, and it required all of my skill and attention to make sure every price was correct and every label in the right place.
